Overall, it is clear that the precentages of forest cover were more in Brazil, Indonesia, and Japan is more in 1990 than 2000, while these of in New Zealand, and Portugal in 2000 is more than 1990. In addition, Suriname and Sangapore remained steadly in both years.
In 1990, the figure for Brazil forest cover was at 65 percent, and that of Japan was lower at 63 percent. In 2000, Brazil saw slight increase to 62 %. Similarly, japan climbed by 9 percentage points. Also the percentage of forest cover in Indonesia gradualy rose from 36 to 32 percent.
Between 1990 and 2000, the figure for land area covered by forest in Suriname and Singapore leveled out at 95 and 3.3 percent respectedly. In terms of Portugal and New Zealand there are decreased by 4 percentage points in both countries.
