The provided table illustrates the percentages of citizens of five different countries including Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey purchasing various types of goods in 2002.
Overall, consumers spent most of their money on food in all five nations, whereas items associated with education were the least purchased.
As regards to food and drinks, one third of Turkey’s population bought this good which was the highest proportion in this category followed by 28.91% of Ireland’s consumer expenditure. Subsequently, other three countries had percentages under 20 of tobacco at 16.36% of Italy, 18.8% of Spain and 15.77% of Sweden respectively.
In terms of goods related to clothing and leisure, there seems to be gradual increase in the proportions from spending on education to footwear or clothes. While 9% of consumers in Italy spent money on clothing, it decreased slightly by 5.8% for leisure items. Moreover, the proportions of clothes remained around 6% as for other four nations.
