Overall, the table compares the six complexes in their age, size and the number of people who use them in each year. It is clear that the three oldest underground systems are larger and more significant than the newer underground rail complexes.

The London underground is the biggest system, which was opened in 1863. It was also the largest system with 394 km of routes. Then, the paris underground was the second largest system, which was opened in 1900 with 190 km of routes and it serves more passengers per year. The tokyo underground system was most used. It serves 1927 passenger per year.

of the three newer complexes, the Washington DC underground system was the most extensive, with 126 km of routes and it serves 144 million passengers per year. Then, the kyoto complexes was the smallest system and it serves only 45 million passengers per year, while the Los Angeles complexes which was the newest system and it serves 50 million passenger per year.
