Overall, the highest number of undernourished people was observed in 2009, compared to the rest of the years. By contrast in the line graph, rice and wheat was roughly the same price in 2000, but in the following years, the cost of wheat accounted for the highest number than rice.
Turning to the table, the number of humans suffered from a lack of nutrients increased from 857 million in 2000 to 924 million in 2008. Subsequently, these malnourished people increased dramatically, reaching 1,024 million by the end of the period in 2009.
Regarding of grains’ price, in 2000, the wheat and rice were sold at an equivalent price. After two years, the wheat increased twofold with the exception of rice. The rice price started increasing moderately from 200$ to 300$ but the cost of wheat dipped slightly in 2006. After two years, the wheat price reached a peak at approximately 1,200$ in 2009, while rice represented a lower cost, amounting to 900$ during the same period.
