Looking from overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the millions of undernourished people slowly rose over the period. Meanwhile, the price of rice and wheat started at the same cost. After that, the price of both significantly increased throughout the given period.
Millions of people increased gradually by about 19 million between 2000 and 2006. Then the number rose from 876 million to 924 million, after which grew modestly to around 100 million in the last year.
According to the line diagram, the price of rice remained the same from 2000 to 2004, while the cost of wheat went up and went down during this period. Following that, in 2006 the cost of both coincided to around 300 dollars. The price of rice and wheat sharply increased and peaked at about 900 dollars and 1150 dollars with the difference of 250 in 2009, respectively.
