The table shows the results of a survey conducted in 2004 among undergraduate and postgraduate students at a UK university. It compares their levels of satisfaction with three different university facilities.
Overall, postgraduate students were more satisfied with the study facilities and social facilities, while undergraduates were considerably more satisfied with the university cafeteria. Social facilities received the highest level of satisfaction among postgraduates, whereas study facilities were the most positively rated area by undergraduates.
Regarding study facilities, 65% of postgraduate students were very satisfied, compared with 67% of undergraduates. A further 20% of postgraduates and 17% of undergraduates were quite satisfied. However, 15% of postgraduates were not at all satisfied, compared with 26% of undergraduates.
For the university cafeteria, 52% of postgraduates were very satisfied, while the figure for undergraduates was considerably higher, at 70%. In addition, 32% of postgraduates were quite satisfied, compared with 27% of undergraduates. Only 3% of undergraduates were not at all satisfied, compared with 16% of postgraduates.
Finally, social facilities had the highest satisfaction among postgraduates, with 80% being very satisfied. By contrast, only 45% of undergraduates gave the same response. Furthermore, 30% of undergraduates were not at all satisfied, compared with just 5% of postgraduates.
