In 2005, Nokia had the leading position with 32.5% of the global market, and this figure rose to 38.6% in 2007. Motorola was the second-largest brand in 2005 at 17.7%, but its share dropped slightly to 14.6% in 2007. Samsung maintained third place with a stable market share, increasing slightly from 12.7% to 14.4%.
On the other hand, Siemens’ share declined significantly from 7.2% to just 1.2% in two years. LG saw a small increase from 6.7% to 7.0%, whereas Sony Ericsson’s share almost doubled from 6.3% to 8.7%. BenQ-Siemens had 4.9% in 2005 but disappeared by 2007, and other smaller companies remained relatively stable with minor fluctuations.
