The table compares the worldwide market share of notebook computer manufacturers in 2006 and 2007.
Overall, HP had the largest share in both years, and its share increased in 2007. Dell also experienced significant growth. Instead, several companies, such as Acer, Lenovo, and Fujitsu-Siemens, decreased in 2007.
In 2006, HP accounted for 31.4% of the market. After a year, it rose to 34%, showing a clear increase. Dell’s market share also grew noticeably, from 16.6% in 2006 to 20.2% in 2007. This was one of the biggest climbs among all companies.
However, Acer experienced a small fall, dropping from 11.6% to 10.7% in a year difference. Lenovo’s share decreased slightly less than a percentage. Fujitsu-Siemens plummeted from 4.8% in 2006 to 2.3% in 2007.
Finally, the market share of other manufacturers dropped from 22.8% to 19.3%. Last but not least, the market became more consolidated in 2007, with the best leading companies like HP and Dell.
