The data illustrates the proportion of population by age groups in a particular town who rose bicycles in the year 2011. At every age, females clearly dominated the chart, while the males gave a tough competition.
Around 51.3% of the girls rode bicycles who were just around nine years or below, whereas the boys contributed 50.3%. Ten to seventeen years old females who showed interest in cycling were about 42.2% while the males were only about 24,6%. In the age group of eighteen to thirty nine years, the percentages reduced drastically to about 17.1% in women and 9.7% in men. Women on the slightly older side (forty to fifty nine years old) claimed only 12.3% which is comparitively higher than 8% in men. There were 18.5% of women, aged above sixty years who enjoyed cycling, which was 13.2% in men. But these percentages were a little higher than those seen in the age group of forty to fifty nine.
To summarize, the number of people keen in cycling has significantly reduced with age, but it was women who was on the higher side at every age group.
