The tables below provide information about coffee and banana sales of Fairtrade*-labelled between 1999 and 2004 in five European nations.
Overall, in five years sales of coffee increased in all five countries, but especially in UK it grown up several times. Situation with banana was a little bit different, on the one hand sales of UK, Denmark and Switzerland rose up, on the other hand in Belgium and Sweden coffee and banana became low-selling products. But, UK was the leader in selling of both products.
In 1999, Switzerland`s people spent on coffee 3 million of euros, which was the highest spending overall of five countries, while among Sweden population coffee wasn`t so popular with sales of 0,8 million of euros. Five years later, table of leaders leaded by UK, where figure rose up just above 13 times. In other countries coffee sale also increased, but it was insignificant growth.
In UK bananas sale in 1999 was popular, where people spent 15 millions of euro, which is a lot more compare to other countries. The lowest figures of Denmark and Switzerland were several times less than UK`s figure. But, beside of this in 2004 their spends on banana product grown up. While, Belgium and Sweden populations started eating less bananas, as a result of which the sales fell down.
