Band 5+: The tables below give information about the amount of exports (millions of tonnes) moving through Rotterdam port in Holland to various global destinations in 2002 and 2012; and also, the % rates of tax imposed on these exports by the receiving countries. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table illustrates the quantity of the exports being transported from the Rotterdam port Holland to the different countries in 2002 and 2012 along with the changes in the taxation imposed by the countries over the same period.

We can see there is increase in the total exports made in 2012 by 1450 millions of tonnes as the exports made in 2002 were 17150 millions per tonnes.Although,there is significant drop in the amount of exports made in 2012 as compared to 2002 in most of the destinations like the USA,Europe,China,LA.The exports made in Europe shows the major drop by 500 millions per tonnes.Out of all the destinations two of them shows increase in the exports transported in 2012 as compared to the year 2002,which are the AP and Australia.

However the taxation imposed over these years demonstrates a major contribution made in the exports.We can see the exports falls significantly with the increase in the tax in destinations like Eurpoe, China and LA.With the drop in the tax imposed in the Australia and AP there is growth in the exports made from the Holland in large numbers as the exports increase from 700 to 2300 and 800 to 2550 millions respectively.However, there is an excpetion with the USA where the exports made shows drop from 4200 to 3900 with the reduction in tax.

Overall data shows a trend in which there is increase in the transportation with the reduction in the tax except the USA.
