Two tables represent the tourism in Australia during the period from 1991 to 1999. The first one tells us about foreigners who visited the country during these years, while the second one shows us numbers of residents who traveled abroad.
First of all, it is noticeable that in eight years number of visitors from other countries increased more than two times. Australia saw the largest change in arrival of foreigners in 1993, which was 15% from the previous year. The number was going up gradually, however, in 1997 it had a mere change of 3.7 percent of people, and then decreasing in 1998 at 3.5 percent. Interestingly, in 1999 it experienced the same percentage of change as it was in the first year (7 percent). Moreover, it was the biggest number of visitors amongst all these years (4459510 million).
Australian citizens traveled much less than others, with a little change in the number of people going away from the country every year. It had one slight fall in 1993 from 2276260 to 2267080 millions, and after raising every year with difference of more than 1 million people in contrast to the first year, being the highest.
Overall, number of inbound visitors were always higher than citizens of the country.
