The chart above illustrates the average working hours of part-time and full-time male and female in Greece, Netherlands, UK and Europeans in 2002.
Overall, there were differences between men and women working time. Europeans almost were higher when compared to others in the chart. While in full-time jobs, men tend to have a higher working hours, in the part-time women recorded slightly longer working hours in Europe. Remarkably, the Netherlands got balance between male and female full-time position.
Firstly, about women, most of these countries’ working hours were lower than the European average. In full-time work, Greece reached the first place with 39.9 hours per week. Following, the European average ranked the second which got 39.2. The unique circumstance is the Netherlands, it got gender equality, both had 38 hours working per week. The lowest subject was the UK with 37 for women. By contrast, in part-time work, women exceeded to be higher object in European average with 34 and the Netherlands with 29.2. Greece and the UK got 29.3 and 28 in part-time categories.
Secondly, according to men, while in full-time jobs, men almost have higher figures respectively with Greece 42.5, European average with 40.4, the Netherlands with 38 and the UK with 37.5, in part-time jobs they got the lower in European average (32) and the Netherlands (28.3). Conversely, Greece and the UK still being higher with 30 and 29.
