The table charts compare pubic satisfaction ratings across six aspects city living in a particular city, categoried as good, neither good nor bad and bad.
Overall, most aspects witnessed a decline in positive ratings over the 30-year period, except for education and employment showing improvement. In addition, transportations consistently recived the lowest satisfication ratings while healthcare and education was the most favoured in 1980 and 2010, respectively.
Regarding the most positively rated aspects in 1980, healthcare led with 82% of respondents giving it a good rating, while education and environment was the secound position, with 72% each. By 2010, education had improved by 10 percentage points to 82%, which matching with healthcare’ figure in 1980. In contrast, health care witnessed a decrease of 6 percentage points to 74%, while the environment only declined by 1%.
As for the remaining aspects, in 1980, shops recieved good ratings from 60% of respondents, slightly higher than employment at 62%. The figure for transportations lagged significantly behind at just 52%. By 2010, employments experienced a increase of 10 percentage points to 72%, while Shops and transportations falled by 4 and 13 percentage points to 60% and 39%, respectively. Notably, the transportation recorded the sharpest decline among all aspects, with its “bad” rating also increasing from 32% to 38%.
