The pictures compare the difference among three different kinds of bridges: arch bridge, concrete girder bridge and suspension bridge.
Overall, a suspension bridge has the most complicated construction while an arch one is quite simple.
The length of an arch bridge is usually no more than 200 meters and the height is less than 100 meters. It is built over a lake and shaped like a cone, which only allows small ships to go under. In comparison, the concrete girder bridge has a more complex structure. It has been constructed with an excess of piers which are less than 300 meters tall and 200 meters apart. Therefore, it can be fit for middle size ships to get through.
Meanwhile, a suspension bridge has been built with two piers on two opposite sides of the sea. The bridge is much higher than the depth of the sea level and it can be up to 2000 meters long, which could be suitable for large size ships to go underneath.
