Conversely the percentage of spending by public library in rennovation and upgrades and miscellaneous declined considerably over the same period of time.
In particluar the amount of spending in technology investments changes significantly, in fact the percentage rose by 14% between 1995 and 2015.
Nevertheless, over the same period the percentage of annual spending by a public public in new book acquisition and staff salaries increased very slowly and remained generally stable. For instance, for new book acquistion grew from 20% in 1995 to 25% in 2005 and for staff salaries rose by only 1% in 15 years.
In contrast, the data shows that in 15 years the amount of spending by public library in rennovation and upgrades and miscellaneous had a substantial reduction. Namley, while the percentage of spending in rennovation and upgrades dropped by 16%, the amount of investments in miscellaneous fell from 7% to 3% between 1995 and 2005.
