The Pie charts illustrate the percentage of private cars, public transport, lorries and other commercial vehicles, and recreational vehicles which are used in Britain over the three years 1996, 1985 and 2005.
Overall, it is noticed that there was a very large majority of private cars and a minority of recreational vehicles. Furthermore, the amount of lorries and other commercial vehicles was the same for 2 years.
To begin with, while 40% of private transport was in 1965, the percentage rose by around 10% every 20 years and this was the largest among the four mediums. After that, the second largest shipment that people were inclined to use as public transport, was a quarter in 1965 and it declined to less than a quarter between 1985 and 2005.
In terms of conveying, a fifth of it was seen in 20 years, but it declined to 10% in 2005. In contrast, recreational shipping had fluctuated over the years when in 1965 it was less than a fifth, while fell by 10% in 1985, and again went up by 3% in 2005.
