From an overall perspective, the majority of categories experienced a downward trend, except for private cars, while the figure for utilizing private cars showed the biggest in 2005.
As shown in the chart, in 1965, the most significant share was private cars, taking up 40%. This was followed by public transport, which was 15% lower than the former. There was a minimal gap between lorries and other commercial and recreational vehicles, accounting for 20% and 15%, respectively.
Turning to the year 1985, over half of people used private cars, climbing moderately by 5% in the next two decades. There was no difference between public transport and lorries and other commercial vehicles, making up 20%; however, the former witnessed a marginal growth by 2%, whereas, the latter plummeted to merely 10%. Notably, the remaining 8% was allocated to recreational vehicles in the final year, which rose from 5% in 1985.
