Moreover, the proportion of public transport decreased with fluctuation while that of lorries and other commercical vehicles, and recreational vehicles dropped over half at the end of the period.
Regarding the private cars, the rate started at 40% in 1965 before it increased considerably to 60% in 2005. In terms of public transportation, in 1965 it started at one fourth of all types. After that, it dipped to 20% in 1985 and continued to raise to 22% in 2005.
However, there were downward trends in lorries and other commercical vehicles, and recreational vehicles. The proportion of the lorries and other commercical vehicles remained stable at 20% for 20 years until it dropped sharply to 10% in 2005. For the recreational vehicles, the figure began with 15% in 1965, plummeting to 5% in 1985. Next, it finally climed up to 8% which was the half of the number in an initial year.
