The first bar chart displays the the percentage of students in an english speaking country aged between 14 and 16 years studing a foreign language in 1984 and 2007.The second bar chart illustrates the top 3 foreign language studied in these years.

Overall, The number of girl’s studying foreign language appears to be more compared to boys.Both the boys and girls number have increased over the years.French was the most popular foreign language.Spanish gained some popularity during these years.

The percentage of both boys and girls studing foriegn language have decreased over the years.The percentage of girls studing foriegn language has reduced 48 percent in 1984 to 40 in 2007.The percentage of boys studing foreign language have also reduced from 30 percent in 1984 to 25 percent in 2007.

French remains the most popular langauge among students,even though it showed a decrease from 50 percent in 1984 to 25 in 2007.Almost 20 percent of students prefered German in 1984 but was later reduced to 15% in 2007.The spanish language showed a small spike in popularity as it was just 5 percent in 1984 and got increased to 10 percent in 2007.
