The provided bar graphs illustrates the percentage of teenage students from 14 to 16 old learning a international language in an english speaking nation, and the main foreign language inclding French, German and spanish.
Overall, there were always a highest number of girls who want to study foreign language entire the period. Beside this, higher number of students were passionate about learning French language more rather than other two language: German and Spanish.
Looking at the graph in more detail, we can see that, the number of girls who studied a foreign language has decrease significantly from around 49% in 1984 to approximately 40% in 2007. Beside a slight decrease, girls have maintained their position to be at top throughout the period. Boys, however, experienced a slight dip from almost 30% in 1984 to just over 20% in 2007.
It is noticeable that, more students are interested to learn french language among other two languages. Even though, french students were higher but it saw a dramatically decrease from around 50% to just under 40%. Furthermore, German and Spanish learning students saw a modest growth approximately 20% to 25% and around 5% to 10% respectively.
