The two maps compare the layout of a library in 1975 and in present. Overall, the library has experienced a notable modernization, alternating its main appearance for the benefit of becoming more visitor-friendly. This transformation included the supplantation of multiple sites such as bookshelves and shared areas; the southern side, however, stayed untouched.
Firstly, it is clear that the building has become more accommodating, relocating the shared area in between library desk and children’s book, its size was also greatly increased, which resulted in increased seating capacity. Furthermore, bookshelves were also demolished to make way for the new, bigger cafe.
Another noticeable change is the replacement of literary sections immediately adjacent to the entrance. Books and magazines, which were on the left, got taken over by computer facilities. Turning to the opposite of it , one of the two rooms for new books had also been knocked down for wheelchair access. Apart from these, most of the building stayed intact.
