The pie charts provide information about the main energy production sources in the USA between 1980s and 1990s.
Overall, the most significant feature is OIL usage. It stayed the most frequently used type of resource to produce electricity over a decade. Another thing that stands up from the graph is an increase of Nuclear power energy by twice from 5% in 1980 to 10%. Also hydroelectric power usage remained constantly low with 5% over these years.
Considering changes much more precisely, OIL importance has always been highest, however it has fallen markedly from 42% in 1980s to 33% in 1990s. Another slice that declined in points in the 1990s is natural gas. It has been the second most used resource after oil in the USA with 26%, and gently decreased by 1 percent over a decade.
The last but not least is the Coal segment, which gradually grew from 22% up to 27% and became the second most used type of energy after OIL in the 1990s.
