The two pie charts illustrate the percentage distribution of different energy sources used in the USA in 1980 and 1990.
Overall, it is clear that the oil was the highest source of energy in 1980,whereas hydroelectric power was the lowest in 1990.
Looking at the details, oil was the most utilized resource, accounting for nearly half at 42 %. Was followed by the natural gas at 26%. Similarly, a major difference of 37% was observed between oil and hydroelectric power. Coal and natural gas recorded at 22% and 26% respectively. However, hydroelectric power and nuclear energy showed identical figures as both accounted for 5%.
Conversely, in 1990, use of oil dropped to 33%. A minor difference of 2% was seen between coal and natural gas. In contrast, coal rea hrd a higher share at 27% as compared to natural gas at 25%. Meanwhile, hydroelectric power accounted for the smallest share at one-twentieth.
