The two maps illustrate how the town of Denham developed from 1986 to 2016.
Overall, the residential area of the town increased in size. Furthermore, there were significant changes in facilities, housing and infrastructure over the period given.
In 1986, Denham looked more like countryside with numerous farmlands over the town, in the south-west and north-east. The river crossed the town from the south-western part to the north eastern. In the northern part of the town there was a bridge located above the river, linking the two parts of the road, crossing the town in the middle. In the right side of the road we can see a primary school and the green area of the large house. Residential area made up a little percentage of the town. To the left of the road there existed some two shops, and a little post office nearby.
In 2016, we see that town had went through the process of urbanisation over the period of 30 years. Although the location of the river and road with a bridge did not change, the road was extended in some parts to the residential area. We can observe some modifications in the both sides of the road. While the farmlands were removed from the town, the number of houses slightly increased. Additionally, to the right of the road, the size of gardens dramatically decreased and two new blocks were constructed to the large house, and it became a retirement house. The building of the primary school also was modified bh adding two new constructions. In the left side of the road the post office remained without any changed, while the two shops were removed from the town.
