The two maps exhibit modifications which the town of Barmouth underwent in order to stop cars entering the town.
Overall, the new entrance has been added to the north-east of the town after which it has been pedestrianized. Moreover, new public facilities were constructed which are catered for a wide variety of services.
To begin with, the main road is seen to have separated into two parts and car parks were added on both sides in order to provide people with parking services. After the road on the south had been abrogated, it was replaced with walkway alongside the river tweed, which stored more space for new cafes and restaurants. With respect to car parks, people can park their automobiles there and the entrance was doubled later the access of cars was prohibited.
Apart from these alterations, the left shore of the river was connected with main road by a bridge. Furthermore, the supermarket erected to the south-east of the town on the left side just after passing the bridge.
