The two pie charts illustrate the relationship status of people in two countries, Canada and Australia.
Overall, both countries share noticeable similarities, with those who live away from their partners and are married making up the two highest proportions of marital status. In the case of Canada, those who are separated but not divorced contributed to 53% of the total population, while 29% were married. Similarly, in Australia, the former was 41% and the latter 46%. This demonstrates the close attitude both countrymen have toward maintaining their marital status.
However, there were also significant differences between the two countries. The most striking fact is that there is a 3% same-sex marriage rate in Canada, which is absent in Australia. Furthermore, in contrast to Australia, Canada has a higher rate of people who have never married or lost their partners. In addition to this, a slightly lower percentage of people being divorced can be observed compared to that of Australia.
