The two pie charts illustrate the average expenditure by households in a country at two different points in its economic development.
Overall, food decreased significantly for the entire period, and recreation and other items increased dramatically. Moreover, it is noticeable that others households spending became more prominent.
In 1929, Medical care, housing and education recorded the smallest share, about 1-2%. However, the food representing majority of all sales,at 71,9%.Furthermore, households goods, travelling and communication and clothing contributed the same proportion, amount 2,5-3,5%. Turning to recreation and others item and fuel and lights, this two categories also share amount the same percentage, about 6,5-7,7.
By 2000, composition shifted sharply. Food dropped dramatically and made up 21,8%, by 2000. It is noticeable, that recreation and other items rose considerably, contributed 34,2%, and travelling and communication became more prominent, made up 14,3%. Meanwhile, education, housing and clothing also climbed moderately, represented about 5-6%.
