The two provided pie charts depict information regarding total waste production in five different countries in the years 2010 and 2020.
Overall, it is immediately clear that the total amount of waste has increased in the span of 10 years. The leading countries stayed the same though, with the USA generating the most waste, followed by China and India, while the amount stayed lower for both Russia and Brazil.
The highest amount of waste generated in 2010 was in the USA, and it remained the biggest producer in 2020. The lowest number in 2010 could be seen in Brazil, and it stayed that way in 2020. The amount of waste grew significantly for all countries though.
In 2010 the USA reached values of 3.2 million metric tons of waste produced, and the number grew to a whopping 5 million in 2020. China followed a similar path, with 2.5 million in 2010 and 4 million in 2020. In Brazil, despite it having produced the lowest number of 1 million metric tons in 2010, the amount also grew to 2.5 million, rising by 150%, which was the largest growth out of the five countries.
