The var graph illustrates the percentage of both males and females eating five or more portions of fruits and vegetables every day by age groups in the UK in 2006.
Overall, females generally consumed more than males among all categories, especially those aged 55-64, followed by 65-74, and in the age of 75+group, the percentage of both genders was the same.
The high consumption occurred in 55-64 aged people, with women at 34%, and men at 32%. In the 65-74 group, people ate fruits and vegetables, females at 29% and males at around 27%.
People aged 19-24 consumed fewer fruits and vegetables than other age groups, 17%for females and 15% for males. In the 25-34 age group, the consumption increases slightly, men to 20%, and women to 22%. In 35-44 and 45-54 aged groups, where males recorded 22% and 23%, while females reached a little bit more to 25% and 27%. Finally, people aged 75+ show the same figure for both genders at 20%.
