The maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in the island of Paradise between past and present. Overall, the island witnessed a dramatic transformation over the given period, becoming less noticeably green and more modernized with the construction of new facilities. Some places, however, stayed in their original locations.
In the past, Paradise island was relatively simple with some key features including a bunch of palms in the middle of the island and scientific research station was located in the west side. It had also a pier on the left of the Paradise island. Moreover, there was a boat adjacent to the pier. Rocks could be found in the north-east corner. It is clear that this island was surrounded by the sea, while the north-west side of Paradise island housed a small beach.
By the present, this island has experienced new alterations with some key features, such as new entertainment places within the island. One of the noticeable changes is that the trees have been cut to make room for the construction of an open restaurant and BBQ area in the centre of the island, while a new cafe has been added near the natural spring. In addition, a scenic lookout has been built in the north. As for the the west side of Paradise island, a number of huge changes were observed there. For example, an extensive hotel complex has been constructed in the place of the scientific research station and the palms have been cleared in order to build a swimming pool. Moreover, the area of pier has been enlarged vertically and horizontally, whereas the boat has been converted into a cruise ship. A new cycle path has been erected along the border of the island. Additionally, people have been allowed to swim beside the beach. Despite these changes, the beach, natural spring and rocks have been remained unchanged.
