The map illustrates the past and current conditions of Paradise Island. In general, the island experienced a great transformation. It used to be an area for scientific research, after which, became a resort for tourists, with hotel, restaurant and other new facilities.
In the past, the Island, which surrounded by the sea, had exclusively a Scientific Research Station. In addition, there were some palm trees that provided shade to the research station, and to the natural spring. The beach was located in the western side of the island, with the boat that frequently docked at the old pier; in the east part, there were large rocks.
Now, the look of the Paradise Island shows almost unrecognizable area because of the new facilities for tourists’ amusment. To be specific, the hotel and swimming pool replaced the Scientific Station. Additionally, the palm trees was cut down to make space for the new outdoor dining options such as a café, a restaurant, and a BBQ area. Another noticable change is cruise ships, instead of boats, and the pier that has been expanded. Other minor changes, such as the beach with the swimming permission, and the sceniс spot has been introduced for visitors’ enjoyment.
