The bar chart compares the number of mobile phones sold globally by three renown companies between 2010 and 2020, and the table gives information about the most popular mobile features over the same period.
It is clear that over the sales of mobile phones changed considerably from 2010 to 2020. It is also noticeable that the highest percentage of people used mobile phones for making calls and sending or, receiving texts.
In term of the bar chart, Nokia sold the highest number of mobile phones in 2010 at 14 million, while the figures for Samsung and Xiaomi were 10 million and almost 8 million respectively. Over the following 10 years, the sales figures of Samsung and Xiaomi rose steadily, but Nokia saw a significant fall of 8 million in sales over the period.
According to the table, nearly 100% of people used mobile phone globally for making calls which was almost double the percentage of people who used handsets to send or, receive texts. In the same year, taking photos was the second most popular mobile feature at 70%. During the period 2010 to 2020, the percentage of people who used cell phones to take photos and text messaging increased from 70% and 50% to 89% and 95% respectively. On the other hand, making calls was only mobile feature that decreased slightly by 9% over the period of 10 years.
