The purpose of this report is to provide data pertaining to two different ways to produce black tea.It can be seen that tea leaves undergo five main stages becoming the final product from harvesting to drying. It is evident that both traditional and modern methods are used .
The analysis will start with steps to manufacturing in picking leaves and withering . Workers pick fresh tea leaves by hand and the finest leaves are carefully selected for processing, Only tea buds and top leaves are selected. The leaves then undergo withering are placed on the large racks , which removes excess moisture from the leaves. Approximately 60% of the moisture is removed,fostering to facilitate further processing.
Attention will now turn to remaining steps that separate to different ways. In the traditional method, the leaves are rolled.The rolling process breaks the leaves apart.While for the modern one involves cutting the leaves with technique produces smaller particles.After that, Leaves are cut, torn and curled in the modern method and the leaves will be flattend and broken by machine to created quickly smaller granular pieces. The leaves then enter the oxidation stage that the fermentation changes the color of the leaves.Finally,the tea leaves are firing and drying by hot-air dryers in ovens and ready for consumption.
