The bar chart illustrates the total percentage of film releases and the total percentage of ticket sales in 1996 and 2006 in a country. It can be seen immediately that overall the audience’s favourite is comedies.
In contrast the least popular were romances. It is interesting that although in both years the percentage of release romance films are exactly the same, it was more preferred in 1996. It is also surprising to notice that during both times the release of every genre of films’ percentage decreased little by little, however it is completely the same at the last genre, which is romance.
Meanwhile the same cannot be said for the graph of ticket sales, since the number of sales are dramatically less for fantasy and comedy each year. This means that during the given decade fantasy and romance hasn’t gained more popularity among the citizens.
It is clear from the data given that ticket sales reached their peak for comedy movies and also sunked to the bottom for romance in 2006.
