The pie charts illustrates the purposes for which visitors traveled through four UK airports in 2016.

Overall, it is clear that, visiting families and friends was the most popular purpose in all airports, except for Gatwick airport. However, the smallest proportion was in other reasons in all airports.

As the graph shows, the traveling for business in both Gatwick and Stansted airport was relatively similar at around 13% and 14%. Passengers using Gatwick airport travelled for their holiday with 54%. While holiday trips were considerably lower in other airports around 33% and 33%.

By contrast, the small percentage was seen in all airports for other purposes, which made up at around 2% and 4%. In fact, visiting with friends and families in Stansted and Luton airports was composed 48% and 50% respectively. The big difference was in Heathrow airport between visiting with friends and families, where the former one made up 37% and the latter 26%. Moreover, the proportion of business was higher only in Heathrow airport with 26%.
