Dear Mr. Ahmed,
I hope this letter finds you in the best of health and high spirits. I am writing this email to apologise for missing the meeting scheduled on Monday morning. I fully understand that as a senior manager my absence may have caused inconvenience to the team, and sincerely regret not being present.
The reason for my absence was an unexpected medical emergency involving my child. She suddenly developed high-grade fever and persistent vomiting, and I had to her to the hospital immediately. Due to the urgency of the situation, I could not inform you beforehand, which I acknowledge wholeheartedly.
To make up for missing the meeting, I have watched the recording and reviewed the important points that were discussed in it. I have also started working on the tasks assigned, including the report which is due this week. I am willing to put an extra hour if necessary to ensure that my team and I complete the given tasks on time.
Thank you for your patience. I will make sure to communicate promptly in the future.
Yours sincerely,
Jaweria
