Dear John Carter,

I am writing this letter to apologise for the team’s meeting I missed on 24th December about the Company’s Development Plan.

I’m sincerely sorry the my absence at the meeting. I’m very much aware about the importance of the conference.

Unfortunately, due to the unexpected situation occurred in my life, I was undeniable to avoid the stay at home. On 24th morning, I lost my grandfather due to severe heart attack. During those tough I can’t leave my family alone, this was the time when my near and dear ones needs me the most.

I know the importance of the assembly, therefore I contact one of my colleagues, Mary Brown, to give me a brief overview of the meeting by the end of the day. Eventually, the review will help me keep up with the pace of the company’s developmental plan.

I hope you will understand my unforeseen consequence happened to me and forgive for my non-attendance at the meeting.
