Dear Mr. Brannagan,

I am writing to sincerely apologize for the absent from the staff dinner party in last Friday night.

The reason for not being able to attend the dinner party is because my son’s birthday party was also on that same night. And I had no other choice but I had to be at my son’s birthday dinner party. Since my son’s birthday was already set on that date before the staff party’s date has chosen and my son’s birthday was also his first birthday to be held outdoor. Additionally, it was the unfortunate coincidence to reach same day with company dinner party.

As I realize that this company dinner party you planned was also vital for the company, I assure you that I will never be absent to attend upcoming any events that are held by the company unless emergency situations.

Once again, I sincerely apologize for that occurrence.
