The charts compare the proportions of electricity output sources in 4 countries between 2003 and 2008.
Overall, fossil fuel was the major source of electricity in India and Vietnam, whereas Sweden and Morocco produced electricity mainly from hydro power from 2003 to 2008. Additionally, there were only two countries that used nuclear power to generate electricity in the given periods.
Regarding countries that did not use nuclear energy for electricity production, fossil fuel played as the dominant source for electricity generation in Vietnam from 2003 to 2008, taking up more than half of the pie chart (56%), whereas that in Morocco only accounted for 5% of the chart. However, the majority of Morocco’s electricity came from water power (95%), while hydro power only contributed 44% to total electricity production sources in Vietnam in the five years period starting from 2003.
Focusing on the two remaining countries, in India between 2003 to 2008, fossil fuel accounted for the largest share of sources of electricity generation, while hydro power and nuclear power only accounted for 14% and 4%, respectively. In Sweden, however, electricity was mostly generated from water energy as it took up more than half of the chart (52%), followed by nuclear power (44%) which was 11 times more compared to fossil fuel (4%) in the given periods.
