The diagram illustrates the stages of the Monarch butterflies life cycle along with the days and activities that are completed.
Firstly, the butterfly lay it’s eggs on the leaves of milkweed, which after a 14 whole days wait turn into nascent larva that just came out of eggs and later turning into caterpillars. The caterpillar feeds on the milkweed leaves and turns into a larva attached on the leave. This whole stage is known as Larval Stage.
After 10 days the attched larva turn into chrysalis, which marks the beginning of pupal stage. The end of chrysalis marks the arrival of adults, which then do a migration towards south. After a 6 month period migration towards north takes place by the butterfly which depicts that the adult stage has begun. Then the butterfly mates and lays egg to start the whole life cycle again.
In this way, Monarch butterflies reproduces and keeps the life flowing.
