Overall, there was a universalshift away from Dial-up connections towards fater alternatives, particularly Broadband and Fibre-optic, across all four countries.

In 2010, Broadband was the dominant connection type in Canada and Australia (45% and 40% respectively), while Dial-up was still significant, especially in Brazil (40%). By 2020, Dial-up usage had plummited in all countries, falling to just 5% in Canada and Brazil.

Canada and Australia consistently maintained high Broadband penetration throught the decade. At the same time, the figure for Canada didn’t change remaining at 45% in 2010 and 2020. Japan demonstrated a notable increase in fibre-optic access, rising from 10% in 2010 to 30% by 2015, although this figure remained static into 2020.
