By contrast, the mobile phone subscrisers began with 0 in 1994 but experienced a shrp and consistents rise throughout the period. By 2001, it had overtaken fixed-line subscritions , and by 2004 it had stepped up to about 7 per 100 people, nearly double the figure for landlines.
