Overall, America and Europe experienced a downward trend in the percentage of the drug company’s total sales, while Asia had the opposite tendency. Besides, Asia became the region that generated the highest sales in the year 2006.
As can be seen from the chart, America was the largest market with 41% of total sales in 2002, and it declined to 27% in the first half of the surveyed period. The figure for this region had a slight increase of about 3% between 2004 and 2006. On the contrary, Europe saw gradual growth from 34% to 38% within the first two years, then it declined, equaling sales in America by the end of the period.
It is noteworthy that the proportion of the corporation’s total sales in Asia witnessed an upward trend from 25% to 40% in 2006, which made this region the largest market in the last year of the period.
