The diagram illustrates the eight stages involved in constructing a storage area from a material called concrete canvas.
Overall, the process can be divided into two main stages: manufacturing the concrete canvas and installing it at the constructing site.The material is first produced and transported to the site, before being unwrapped, unfolded, inflated and hydrated. Finally, it is allowed to harden and ready for use.
Initially, the concrete canvas is manufactured by combining three layers : fibrous top layer, dry concrete in the middle and the waterproof layer beneath. The finished material is then packaged and transported to the construction site by truck. There, the package is unwrapped and the canvas is unfolded. One end is protected by pegs, while the other one is pulled out using a rope attached to the truck. When fully extended, it measures approximately 10 metres in length.
Next, an airpump is used to blow air into the canvas, forming a structure about 2-3 metres high. Water is then applied to its surface , which activates the hardening process of the concrete canvas. After about 20-24 hours, the concrete becomes hard and can finally be used as a storage area.
