The grid demonstrates the variation in rentals and sales of number of formats over the course of ten years.

Regarding the purchases of films in VHS form, it fell dramitacally from 85,000 in 2002 to 10,000 in 2005 — where it was seen for the very last time. However, looking at DVD sales there was sharp rise in it till 2007 (21,000), followed by slight dip in its demand sebsequently. The oppsite trend was patterned in Blue-ray sales emerging in 2007 and got flourished at very steady rate with 10,200 at 2011.

Likewise, it is clear from chart that the rentals of the various norms of the movie has seen the consistent decline throughout the span of a complete decade, starting with 18,500 to ending with merely less than 50,000.

In summary, there was decline in popularity of rentals with the general growith in the fashion of DVD. While, there is a noticeable decline in VHS followed by the birth of Blu-ray.
