Band 8+: you agreed to help your friend's son with English. You want to borrow some books from an English teacher to use for lessons. Write a letter to the teacher. In your letter - give details about the child - tell when and where you will help - describe which books you need

Note: Both the topic and the answer were created by one of our users.

Dear Ms Susan,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to ask if I could borrow some English books for a few weeks. I recently agreed to help my friend’s son improve his English, and I believe your advice and resources could be very helpful.

The child, Alex, is nine years old and is currently in 3 grade. He is a bright boy but struggles with grammar and vocabulary. I plan to focus on these areas during our lessons, along with improving his reading and speaking skills.

We will have lessons twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, at my house. It’s a quiet and comfortable place for him to concentrate.

Could you recommend or lend me some books that cover basic grammar and vocabulary for his level? If you have any storybooks or practice exercises that could make learning fun for him, those would also be great.

Thank you so much for your help. Please let me know when I can collect the books, or if you have any other suggestions.

Best regards,

Daria
