The bar chart illustrates the share (in percentage) of internet usage by different ages, starting on 18 years old and ending on the 65+ group.
At first glance, we can perceive that the shape of the bars follows a decreasing trend according to the age increase, i.e., the youngest clearly use more internet than the oldest. While the first range, from 18 to 24 years, has more than 80% of them connected, for the 65+ range, this percentage is reduced by half (approximately 40%).
People around 25 to 34 years old have an internet usage of almost 80%, which is very similar to the youngest (first bar). Moreover, this is a behavior that we can see through all the groups.
Overall, as we increase the age categories, the percentage has a slight decrease, resulting in minor differences. Therefore, parallel groups have similar shares, varying only between 5% to 10% in their differences.
The only exception to this behavior is when we compare the 55-64 years old group to the 65+. Whereas the former has nearly 50%, the latter has around 35%, roughly speaking, this means that the difference can reach 15%.
