Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter regarding missed project submission deadline due to the viral flu, I had last week.

I am Dave, enrolled in Cloud Computing program and I am currently in my final semester. I am one of your student for Azure Administrator class which occurs every Thursday, between 1 – 3, in the afternoon. My registration number is ABCD123456.

I am aware about the project submission which was due last week, but unexpectedly I caught flu in the weekend when I was in my friend’s place for group studies. It turned into a severe problem within a day and I had to be admitted in the hospital. I had no access to my computer or mobile to send out a message any earlier as I was in the critical care room. Due to this unfortunate situation, I missed the submission.

I will be able to provide the medical certificate. I request you to consider this as an exception and provide me with extension for the project submission.
