Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to express my concern regarding the proposed construction of a new international airport in our local area, which I recently learned about through a notice published on the council’s website.
While I understand that such a project could bring economic benefits and improve transport links, I believe its current location would create several serious problems for the local community. Firstly, the increased number of aircraft operating in the area would inevitably result in considerable noise pollution, particularly for residents living close to the proposed site. This could disrupt their daily lives and negatively affect students who needs quiet environment to study. Secondly, the airport is likely to attract a substantial increase in road traffic, potentially causing congestion and increasing air pollution on the surrounding roads. There are also concerns about the loss of green spaces and the possible displacement of local residents and businesses.
I would therefore strongly recommend that the council reconsider the proposed location and conduct a comprehensive environmental and traffic-impact assessment before proceeding. If possible, the airport could instead be constructed farther from residential communities, with an efficient public transport system connecting it to the town. This would reduce congestion while limiting the impact of aircraft noise and pollution on residents.
I recommend the council consider these concerns before making a final decision.
Yours faithfully,
Jimoh Lucky
